The Neighborhood Levees Hold

Concerned residents watched as flood waters rose all over parts of greater St. Louis, but there was no reason to worry at Barrett Station Place.  The levee system did it's job once again.

Though water levels were somewhat high, it was not abnormal for this creek.

Resident Laurie Sifrig, whose home backs up to the creek, said that she has never seen the water rise above the banks.  The retention pond runoff system is apparently successful in thwarting all but the most severe (and highly unlikely) flood situations.

The photos below, taken March 19th, confirm that there was absolutely no flood risk in our neighborhood.
