With the August 1st deadline for the county trash program fast approaching, the likelihood of planning, organizing, and executing a neighborhood meeting with moderate attendance is slim. Instead, the important issue of Opting In or Opting Out will be put to a vote.
The main advantage to Opting In is economic. The pricing is available here. Compare these rates to your current bill, and you should notice significant quarterly savings.
The main disadvantage is the loss of control/choice/freedom. If we receive inferior service, we are still stuck with this trash provider. Is that worth the extra cost? Run the numbers and decide for yourself.
