Neighborhood Dues Rise to $140

DUES INCREASE

Neighborhood dues have been $135 for many years, but in 2009 we made the tough decision to increase the fee to $140. 

This was due to 3 main reasons:


1. We ran out of cash at the end of 2008
2. We need Chemlawn to do a vegetation kill on Hidden Meadow
3. Landscaping fees were on the rise due to the 2008 fuel spike

We will explore all means to lower expenses and bring the dues back down next year.


RESERVE ACCOUNTS

Some of you wonder about our additional finances, which total approximately $11K & $36K respectively.  The $11K is an account reserved for neighborhood emergencies, and we did not want to tap into that for dues.  The $36K is set aside for the rebuilding of our entrance when that takes place.  For tax reasons we do not want to touch it until we are allowed to build.  These funds are located in separate interest bearing accounts at Edward Jones:
